Toyota history in the twenty-first century
At the turn of the century, Toyota crossed the mark of 100,000,000 produced cars for the domestic market. In 2002, it was decided to create their own team in Formula 1. Unfortunately, despite a huge budget, even by the standards of the Royal Races, Toyota was never able to succeed in this kind of motorsport. For a while, the company continued to supply engines to other teams, but in 2009 the management decided to curtail the activities of the automaker in Formula 1.

In the same year, a division of Nissan, the Infiniti Division of Nissan North America, was created in the United States, producing luxury cars that compete with Mercedes, BMW and Lexus. In November 1989, the famous Infiniti Q45 model appeared on the market.
